Coalition Mission: 

To provide education and resources that will assist long-term care organizations in transforming their culture of care.

Coalition Vision:

Long-term care communities in Nebraska will become a place where individuals not only choose to live and work, but where they thrive within the environment.

Coalition Values:

bulletPersonal choice and self-determination are basic rights.
bulletA voice is meant to be heard and respected.
bulletRelationships are an essential part of life.
bulletRisk-taking is a normal and valuable part of life.
bulletIndividuality is what makes us all unique.

Coalition Goals:

bulletTo help organizations see the value in putting the person before the task.
bulletTo enhance the lives of others and promote their growth, development and empowerment by providing education and increasing public awareness about culture change.
bulletTo help others understand that listening to and valuing what residents and staff say is an important part of treating others with dignity and respect.
bulletTo offer guidance to organizations on doing individual, environmental and organizational self-evaluation and on being receptive to change.
bulletTo help organizations recognize and understand that culture change and transformation are not destinations, but a journey, always a work in progress.
bulletTo provide a forum where individuals can seek and share wisdom, develop relationships and help create a legacy of culture change.

What's  Happening:

bulletUsing the MDS 3.0 as an Engine for High Quality Individualized Care a webinar collaborative series available through a grant from the Pioneer Network to the Nebraska Culture Change Coalition. Your opportunities to be a part of this event begin on April 10, 2012 at Douglas County Health Center, Omaha, NE or April 12, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island, NE. Download more information about the event and the registration form. The event includes 3 continuing education hours.

Continuing Education hours available for multiple professions. Read the conference brochure and register by April 15th to get early bird rates.
bulletBuilding a Bridge to a new Culture of Aging. The Pioneer Network 2012 conference held August 5-8, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL.
